Have you ever felt as if the trouble you face or stress that you feel will never end? I know that I have. But it has eventually ended, much to my relief, and the next time I find myself feeling that way, I try to remember that this trial, too, will end. Those feelings are what drew me to the stamp set From My Heart. I have a particular person in mind who will receive this card, as she is going through some tough times.

When I saw the colors in this week’s Just Add Ink challenge, the design for my card came together quickly. The card base is Baked Brown Sugar and the textured panel is Crisp Cantaloupe embossed with the SU Textured Impressions embossing folder (retired). Both these colors are also retiring soon, but I sure wish SU would keep the Crisp Cantaloupe. I decided against any extra bling, as the embossing and the stamp itself are fancy enough. Sometimes less is more, as they say.

My lighting isn’t the greatest, and so the clear embossing I did on the stamped image doesn’t show very well, but it really makes the image pop. I inked up my Early Espresso ink pad until it was nice and juicy before I stamped the image onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  Then I embossed the image with clear embossing powder. I still haven’t gotten over the “wow” factor of seeing the embossing powder turn to liquid and dry shiny. It’s almost magical.

The ribbon is the 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon that I trimmed down to 7/8″ wide. I adhered the jute to the textured cardstock with two strips of Sticky Strip. The adhesive is strong enough to keep the raw edges from fraying. Now all I need to do is write a message of encouragement on the inside and this card will be on its way.

Thanks for stopping by today. My wish for you is that whatever challenges you may be facing pass quickly, though quickly is a relative term when one is suffering, isn’t it?
