If you’ve been to a store lately, you’ve probably encountered a number of temping candy displays along with all manner of items decorated with red hearts. Love is in the air, and it would appear that candy is the way to express it. (I wonder, though, whether the best way to show one’s love is to give a big box of sugary candy.) I had to laugh when I read on Wikipedia this morning that the origin of the word February is the Latin word februum which means purification. Purification is what we need AFTER all that candy!

With all the images of love so prominently displayed, it occurred to me that this would be a good month to consider the conflicting definitions of love in our culture. So bear with me as I write a series of posts this month on the topic of love.

I will be writing to learn and grow, not to imply that I have definitive answers. Mostly I just have questions that I need to ponder a little more deeply, and for me that means writing about those questions. Join me in my journey and share your thoughts in the comments below.

Thanks for spending a few minutes with me. Have a great day!
