Here’s another card made from images cut from Home for Christmas DSP. This tree reminds me of the first tree Ken and I had after we married. We could hardly get it in the door, and it practically filled the entire tiny living room of our rent house. It sure didn’t seem that full standing out among all those other trees in the lot. Of course, we didn’t use candles (scary to imagine!), but strings of popcorn, lights, and a few homemade ornaments were its decorations.

I chose to make the card base from Pool Party because it is so peaceful and calming, a nice change from the bold red and green traditionally used at Christmas. The narrow silver ribbon and rhinestones give it a little sparkle. I popped up the tree on dimensionals, giving it more depth and focus.

The sentiment on the front and inside are both from More Merry Messages. They seemed tailor-made for a card with presents on it. This is definitely not a card to make if you don’t like to do fussy cutting, and a really sharp pair of paper snips is a must. Fortunately, I enjoy cutting things out. I find it calming, much like doing a little coloring.

Once again, I made multiples of the card. I’m up to 14 cards now…I need to ramp it up to have them in the mail by next Tuesday, don’t I?  Probably need to begin to simplify, although I did cut out all the images in spare moments over the past week, so these actually went together pretty quickly.

Hope you are finding yourself wrapped in the happiness and love of your family and friends this season. Thanks for stopping by, and yes, I still have more cards to share with you tomorrow. 🙂
