diana-gibbs-indescribable-giftHappy Easter! The card I’m sharing with you today was made by Diana Gibbs, my Stampin’ Up upline who lives in Arizona. A photo does not do this card justice; it is a work of art.

Although most of my blog posts these days feature crafts projects, today’s post is a blend of craft and personal reflection. I tried previously to keep separate blogs, but I ended up posting little to any of them. My solution was to merge the fractured pieces of my writing life into this one blog. Fair warning; this one post is a blend of hobby and reflection.

Easter is a holiday that has become a strange mix of traditions from rabbits that bring eggs to children in baskets to a fashion show of spring clothes. At its best, the day brings families together in joyous celebration. For many of us, though, Easter is also a day set aside for us to remember God’s indescribable gift to mankind: His own Son. While Christmas is a celebration of Jesus’ arrival as an infant, Easter is a time to remember Jesus’ victory over death and sin at the cost of His own human life.  He came to us in our own human form to show us how to live a meaningful life of peace and joy that transcends daily stress and labor. He showed us by example that we are to be in the people business. While not many of us choose to lives of service in the way that Mother Teresa did, we can choose each day to show kindness and love to those we meet. The Robert Louis Stevenson quote on one of the new SU stamps says it well: The essence of love is kindness.

Thanks for taking the time to visit and allowing me to share my thoughts with you. May you find love and kindness as you go your way this week!
