Summer is nearly here! Can you believe it? It seems as if Easter was only a week or so ago… Tomorrow is my granddaughter’s last day of preschool. What better opportunity than an end-of-year party to make up some treat bags for her classmates?

This project is a blend of retired, current, and soon to be released products. I’ve been on a mission to use up some of my paper stash before July 2 when the new catalog purchasing begins. Unfortunately, I have a lot of unused paper. Before I retired a couple of years ago, I would buy products with every intention of using them to make all kinds of fun items. However, after a full week of long hours and travel, I was usually too tired to find my mojo. One of the things I love best about Stampin’ Up!, though, is how well all their products work together. So even though, this Specialty Sweet Shop Designer Series Paper is no longer for sale, it still makes an awesome treat bag.

The Mini Treat Bag Thinlit die makes creating treat bags a snap. I was happy to see that it is returning in the new catalog. The die is designed for efficient use of paper, too. Yea! I was able to cut eight bags from just three sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper with no waste.

Are you wondering what new product I used? It’s the sentiment from the new You’re So Sweet stamp set. The set is designed to coordinate with the Mini Treat Bag die. It’s one that I see using frequently. I would definitely put this set on your wish list! SDid you notice the snappy red banner peeking out from behind the sentiment? I used another new product to make those: the Banner Triple Punch. Triple, meaning that it will cut three different widths of banners perfectly. Another great quality of the punch is that it’s open on the other end to allow you to make your banners whatever length you need. Pretty cool, huh? I forsee more banners in my crafting future.

Here are the goodies that I put into the bags. Nothing too fancy, just some fun little items to begin celebrating summer break and a small bag filled with Annie’s Bunny Grahams and tied with some thick Bakers Twine. Trying to be healthy here, so no candy; just tasty little bits of whole grain goodness with honey, chocolate, and chocolate chips. Yum!

Days like these make me thankful for retirement. Having the time to make my grandaughter’s day a little more special? Priceless!

Thanks for stopping by.  I love it when people leave me comments, so let me know let me know what’s on your new catalog wish list. Or just say “hi!”  🙂
