I imagine that you’re probably wondering why I’m posting a Thanksgiving card during the Advent season…. Well, it’s because I have had a hard time sitting down to blog for the last couple of months, and I love my cards I’ve been making, so I decided to share them with you!

I was pretty stuffed with happiness this Thanksgiving. I had my entire immediate family at the table for the first time in over 20 years! Grown children and a husband whose business inventoried the day before Thanksgiving conspired against a family celebration for years. Even though we didn’t eat a traditional meal (we are not turkey lovers), we took time to remember our blessings and ate some very good food.

I sometimes wonder how many other people choose not to eat turkey on Turkey Day. Homemade Three Sauce Lasagna is one of our favorites, but sometimes it’s a big pot of gumbo. After all, it isn’t about the turkey, is it? It’s about gathering together as a family, cooking together, eating together, and cleaning up together. Key word: together. So no matter what you ate this past Thanksgiving, I hope you were stuffed with the happiness that comes from spending the day with people you love.

Of course, not all of our extended family was at our table, so I made these cards to send them. Rather than have a large greeting inside, I used the small greeting from the Lighthearted Leaves set and wrote each a note telling them why I am grateful for them.

The DSP and stamped image on the card front are retired products that I still have. The Mingle all the Way stamp set is a keeper in my book, and I love the Color Me Autumn DSP from last year. It may last me another year, as I don’t make that many fall cards. Seems like I go straight into Christmas card mode in the fall. The leaf inside is from the Best of Autumn set, also retired.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I realize there are countless blogs that feature Stampin’ Up products, so I feel honored that you spent time reading mine!
