2015 May Blog Hop Button-Resized

Welcome to Di’s Country INKers’ May blog hop featuring Mother’s Day projects. My card features the sentiments from the Mother’s Love stamp set. There really is nothing like a mother’s love. My husband has always told our two sons that they will never find anyone who loves them any more than their mom. It’s true; they are my greatest treasures.

My mom passed away in 2010, but I’ve been blessed with the world’s greatest mother-in-law, and I’m hoping this card will remind her how much she means to me.  She has loved me like her own daughter and taught me through her love and actions how to be an awesome mother-in-law. Definitely, no mom deserves more love than Mary.

The beautiful script in this set is an embellishment all to itself, so I decided to keep things simple. The DSP is from Painted Blooms, and the tiny butterfly is cut from a sheet of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack.

I also made a Curvy Keepsake box out of Soft Sky and stamped the flowers from the Painted Petals set in Soft Sky. The butterfly is cut from Whisper White with Soft Sky ink sponged onto the wings. I saw several of the boxes with the butterfly attached on Pinterest and had to try it. I glued the wings on with Tomobow Multi glue, and they stuck really well. I cut the tag from one of the Chalk Talk framelits; I’m SO glad those are not retiring!  The sentiment is from the Mother’s Love set. I haven’t decided what to put in this little box yet, but I’m thinking that some earrings or a necklace would fit nicely.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful Mother’s Day filled with love from family and friends!
