When making cards for specific people, it’s wise to consider their preferences. Of course. I didn’t have to think too hard about what my granddaughter would prefer: pink, glitter, stickers and hearts galore.  When I saw LeeAnn Greff’s post of Valentine swaps, I saw the card to make for Aurora. I tweaked mine a little, but the design is basically the same. It’s fun to put together, and I will probably make more using this folding technique.

The doily and stickers are ones I purchased several years ago from a local hobby store. They will last forever, as I don’t have too much call for heart stickers and heart shaped doilies other than on Valentines Day.

The card opens to the left, revealing the full heart underneath with room to write a greeting on the left panel.  The mat is Real Red with a layer of Pretty in Pink cardstock (retired) run through the Big Shot with SU Decorative Dots embossing folder. The heart on the front is cut from one of the hearts in the SU Hearts Collection Thinlits Dies. I adhered the white heart to a piece of Real Red cardstock and trimmed to create a red edging. The message is stamped in Real Red ink with a SU Valentine stamp and punched out with the SU Full Heart Punch (both retired).

The photo on the right shows how the card opens for those who are new to this design. I have seen several cards made this way with Stampin’ Up!’s Wondrous Wreath stamp set, and I intended to try one, but I haven’t gotten around to it.  I’m thinking that I will make one now with a spring themed wreath.

A great advantage of using Stampin’ Up! products is that so many SU Demonstrators blog about their projects and provide a list of the products they used. Even when I don’t copy a card design, I usually always come away inspired to stamp with ideas swirling in my head. Stampin’ Up! blogs create a community of people who share a passion for creating cards and projects. Right now is a great time to join, too, during the Sale-a-Bration event that runs through March 31. You can check out the details on the Stampin’ Up! website at this link: Join Stampin’ Up!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing all my 2015 Valentine projects. I have one more card to post and then I will put Valentines Day behind me for one more year. Thanks for visiting my blog today!
