Mother’s Day Wishes Blog Hop

Welcome to the Di’s Country INKers May 2018 Blog Hop featuring Mother’s Day projects. I’ve used products from the Share What You Love Suite for this special card. I love the foiled accents that cause the flowers to glisten in the light. This paper also features two of my new favorite colors, Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide.
You may recognize the Happy sentiment from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I embossed the image with clear embossing powder after stamping it with Tranquil Tide ink. Then I punched it out using the Everyday punch. To create the Tranquil Tide mat, I punched two more shapes using the Everyday Punch, cut off the end of one and cut a piece of the second one to extend the length of the shape. Because of the dark color, the overlap is nearly invisible. After seeing the finished size of the sentiment, I opted to create a 5″x 7″ card from Thick Whisper White cardstock.
The “Mother’s Day” is from Crazy About You. ( I was surprised to find that I only have two stamp sets that have those words!) I also edged this piece with a Tranquil Tide Mat. No punch for these, just some careful freehand cutting!
I wrapped Silver Bakers Twine around the DSP and its Tranquil Tide mat before adhering it to the Thick Whisper White card base. I used a little silver thread behind the stamped image for a little bling before attaching it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final touch? Two sweet Artisan Pearls from the Share What You Love embellishment kit.
I plan to type and print out my own personal sentiment for the inside of the card. Sometimes an original heartfelt sentiment beats the finest stamp. 🙂
